This deed of surrender template records an agreement between a landlord and a tenant to end a tenancy or lease early. The tenant gives up the tenancy or lease from an agreed surrender date, and the landlord accepts the surrender.
Who is this template for?
It suits a landlord and tenant of a home or business premises who both agree to end the tenancy or lease early. As the document itself states, it is not a notice, and it does not replace a court order or the ordinary end of a term.
What does the template include?
The document is made up of numbered sections:
- Parties — the landlord, tenant, an optional second tenant and an optional guarantor.
- The Tenancy or Lease — tick residential or commercial, then the property, dates, term, rent and title number.
- Surrender — the Surrender Date, with separate wording for residential tenancies and tick boxes for commercial leases.
